IDS' quiet investment into Collect+ values company at £90M
Out of Home (OOH), PUDO (Pick Up Drop Off) continues to outperform
IDS just quietly acquired a 49% stake in Collect+ for £43.3M, valuing the OOH/PUDO network at a whopping £90M !!! But the Collect+ story itself is INSANE.
2009 - Started as a 50/50 JV between Yodel and PayPoint plc valued at £1M
2020 - Paypoint acquires Yodel’s 50% for £6M netting Yodel a cool 12x ROI
2025 - IDS, parent of Royal Mail, acquires a 49% stake for £43.9M, giving Paypoint a 7.5x ROI on it’s Yodel shares, and a 90x ROI on it’s original shares.
Paypoint’s original investment of £0.5M is now worth £45M.
WOW, just WOW. Who’s the smart guy in the room now?
It should be noted that Yodel (Yodel Delivery Network Ltd) was recently acquired by InPost too.
